Wind Whipped Farm 2026 update: A season of growth, gratitude, and a little extra joy…

Dear local food supporters,

As the days get shorter and the fall colours settle in, we’ve been taking stock of the year, and there is so much to be grateful for. Read on for a seasonal update!

Meet the 2026 farm team

A big thank you to our awesome 2026 farm team: Olivia, Nukaiya, Rosie and Randy! After a busy spring and summer, they are now hard at work with the fall harvest and getting the farm ready for winter. Their care and energy made this season what it was, and we are very grateful to be farming with them.

End of the 2026 Local Food Box program

The Local Food Box season is coming to an end, with the last pick-ups happening next week. A big thank -you to our partner farms and local producers who make the program possible, and to all our members for supporting local food!

Thanks also to everyone who visits us at the Metchosin Farmers Market and picks up Wind Whipped produce at the Roaming Raven booth.

Want to keep supporting local food beyond the Box season? Check out Wild Mountain Food & Drink for a great local meal, and stop by the Wind Whipped Farmstand for seasonal produce year round.

Stock up at the Farmstand

A reminder that the Wind Whipped Farmstand is open every day from 9-5. For those of you planning meals, consider stocking up ahead of Thanksgiving weekend. This week the stand will have lots of salad greens, root veggies, onions, garlic, herbs, and our first winter squash. Strawberries and tomatoes are still available but slowing down, but we still have lots of epic eggplants – the best we’ve ever grown!

Or maybe you are heading to a Thanksgiving gathering as a guest? Consider bringing your host some Wind Whipped Farm Credits, available in increments of $5.  It’s a great gift for anyone that loves good food and it helps connect new customers with our farm. To pick some up, contact us at windwhippedfarm@gmail.com.

Speaking of hosting: the Parry Road Farmhouse

We are happy to share a new project with you, the Parry Road Farmhouse!

Launched in fall 2026 and inspired by the farmstay model, the Parry Rd Farmhouse offers short term rentals in Metchosin for guests who want to discover the area, or locals who are looking for a rural getaway. The Farmhouse offers beautiful and bright spaces to gather, including a well-equipped kitchen, a spacious living room and a solarium. With 4 bedrooms, the Farmhouse can accommodate up to 8 people.

Guests also receive seasonal produce and Farmstand credits from Wind Whipped Farm, along with chances to learn about life on a working farm. For more information, to book a stay or to share with friends or family who want to visit the region, please visit the Parry Road Farmhouse Airbnb listing or contact us at windwhippedfarm@gmail.com.

If you have a moment, we would really appreciate you sharing our listing with your friends, family, and networks, and helping us spread the word about this beautiful rental home and connection to Metchosin agriculture.

One more piece of good news…

Last but certainly not least… the Wind Whipped family grew in 2026 with the arrival of baby Élouan in August! Everyone is healthy and well. Alex, Virginie and Yanou, are over the moon in love with him. Yanou is an exceptional older brother, and at barely six weeks old, Élouan is already full of light – the best fall crop ever! We are settling into new routines and getting to know our new little bean with lots of joy.

Thank you for being part of our farm community in 2026.

Alex and Virginie, on behalf of the Wind Whipped Farm team.
